Phosphor-in-Glass (LED) Aerosol Deposition

Introduction
Nano-sized glass powder offers new possiblities as a sealant and an additive material in the electronics industry because it can lower the maximun firing temperature and achieve a denser structure after firing. The thermal properties and behavior of a glass powder should be determined in order to optimize the firing process. Lately, there have been some studies about the synthesis of nano-sized glass powder, but the thermal properties of its analysis and behavior of this powder remain unclear. Investigation of nano-sized glass powder in terms of its analysis and potential applications is underway.

Thermal properties such as the glass transition and softening temperatures are significantly reduces in nano-sized glass powders. We therefore investigate the relationship between the particle size and the glass transition and softening tempertures.



Sintering Behavior of Nano-Sized Glass Powder

The sintering behavior of nano-sized glass powder was investigated, and the results showed an unusual swelling phenomenon. The mechanism of the swelling phenomenon was analyzed using in-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and it could be confirmed the microscopic sintering behavior of the nano-sized glass powder.
